18. Victoria Park to Stratford

Please note the following changes and corrections:

page 265 From Pudding Mill to Three Mills
Bullet point 7: The 'Long Wall' footpath alongside the Channelsea River, closed since 2007, has finally reopened, thus enabling a pleasant riverside route that featured in the very first edition of 'The Green London Way' . Although the described route is still availabel this new variant would read:
    • Shortly after passing the memorial, continue between a small road on the left and a bridge on the right and passed the entrance to Three Mills Studio to reach the Three Mills site.
The instructions continue below, replacing the first three bullet points of the next section.

    •  Continue directly ahead to join the footpath (now renamed the Three Mills Path) between the studios and the Clock Mill. It follows the Channelsea River and the beginning of the Prescott Channel to reach a footbridge.
    • Cross the bridge and turn right back along the Prescott Channel and then through an area of woodland parallel to the Channelsea River and Abbey Creek.
    •  At the end of the path climb up beside a painted piece of machinery, resembling a nautilus, to reach the Greenway.  Turn left alonh the Greenway to reach Stratford High Street.

Bullet point 7: Earlier editions of The Green London Way mention a footbridge over Carpenters Road. This has now been demolished and replaced by a pedestrian crossing. This has been corrected in the 2013 reprint. If using an earlier edition:
    • Cross Carpenters Road and keep ahead between bollards to join the path opposite, which curves right and becomes a short street, Doran Walk.
    • Continue to the T-junction and turn left along Jupp Road West, which soon becomes Jupp Road, to reach a footbridge over the railway.
